About Us

Who We Are

Dallas Street Dog Advocates (DSDA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by dedicated volunteers working to address the loose and stray dog crisis in Dallas. We are driven by compassion, urgency, and the belief that every dog deserves a home.

Our Process

Our comprehensive approach involves three key operations working together to save lives and create lasting change.

Secure

We actively rescue street dogs from dangerous situations, providing immediate medical care and shelter to those in need.

Place

Comprehensive adoption process with thorough screening, behavioral matching, and ongoing support.

Raise Awareness

Community education programs focusing on responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter awareness.

What We’ve Learned

Through our work rescuing dogs from the streets, we’ve discovered that many of them are incredibly adoptable. They long to love and be loved, and they deserve the chance to be healthy, happy, and safe in a home of their own. We’ve also learned that the people living in the areas hardest hit by the stray dog crisis want our help and are eager to be part of the solution.

Community Voices Matter

Community members are often the first lifeline for stray dogs. They establish feeding routines, watch over them, and share what they know about each dog’s story. Some were left behind when families moved away. Some were cruelly tossed from cars. Others were born on the streets to mothers who had already been abandoned. Sadly, if you can imagine it, it has happened.

These neighbors have also seen the suffering — dogs starving, dehydrated, struck by cars, or collapsing from the Texas heat. Yet they still reach out, wanting better for these dogs. Their voices remind us that both the animals and the people living in these difficult conditions need — and deserve — our help. Together, we can bring hope where there was only hardship.

Our Leadership

Whether we’re responding to urgent calls, organizing adoption events, or helping dogs heal, our team is here to make Dallas safer for pets—and kinder for people.
